Also, it occasionally feels like you are being beaten over the head with the excessive repetition of certain facts. I guess a good thing about the book is that it introduced me to some interesting historical tidbits, which are probably more interesting in their own right than this fictional account of them. Her case was very popular, specialy in New Mexico and Texas where she was reported talking to the original tribes from those places before the Franciscans went to evangelize those people.

This book tells the story of la dama azul, the blue lady, who would appear to Native Americans in what today is the Southwestern U. The story is based upon The Lady in Blue. I only give it three stars because the prose is mediocre perhaps because it is a translation?

I had a hard keeping track of the destinations and the characters from the past and present to follow the storyline. The mysterious lady first appeared to Native Americans in what is now New Mexico, where she was able to sierta thousands to the Catholic faith.
If anything it was abrupt and kin This book came highly, highly recommended by multiple coworkers who absolutely loved it.
She prepares them to receive instruction in a new faith. Her appearances there helped to convert the native Ameri This book had a great idea, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t that well written.
I wondered if it had been translated from Spanish – the author is Spanish – but it doesn’t indicate that it is. Apparently there will be a sequel to the book, or at least the way is left open for one, but after forcing myself to finish this one, I don’t believe I will read the second if it ever comes out. Many Native Americans believed it was one of their goddesses appearing to them as a warning.
I’m sure a lot of this is due to the translation, javiet I have to fault the author for making some of the dialogue seem like poorly written narrative instead of actual dialogue. This nun lived in Spain but was reported to have appeared to native Americans in what is now New Mexico.

I listened to audio version. Sierra is a great narrator and knows how to explain abstract things quite easily.
